Overview
Cambridge University Riviera Racing is an ambitious student society which has designed and built a zero-emissions racing boat to compete at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. Along the way, the society has fulfilled two key aims - providing a hub for inventive students at the university to develop their skills through a real-world engineering challenge, and demonstrating the viability of zero-emissions powertrains to the maritime industry. Entirely student-run, the team focuses on creating targeted partnerships with cutting-edge industry leaders to collaborate on advancing the next-generation of sustainable technology.
The team have developed a lightweight, electric racing catamaran to participate in the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge.
MAHLE Powertrain are supporting Riviera Racing with the development and assembly of the battery pack and the design and fabrication of key components for their 2026 racing boat.
